When we file for Tax Returns, is it for the previous year we worked? For example If I started working on February, then that means I can not do tax returns that is due this year on April 15, is that correct?
I don't know about deductibles but I had to spend A LOT moving from Hawaii to my new job place. Shipping cars, furniture, new apartment, etc... I want to ATLEAST try get tax refunds for those things. Does that mean I will need to wait until Next year January 1st?
It's for the previous year. You won't file anything earned for 2014 until this time next year.
well obama sees to it that those who scam welfare get fed by having hard workers support them.
blame obama, the socialist.
Not to highjack the thread .. but why is there always someone who immediately blames Obama? The federal, state, SS & medicare deductions have existed LONG before Obama and haven't changed significantly since he has been president (well he DID get medicare lowered for a few years, but the GOP but a stop to that).

You should be able to deduct those expenses from your income, but only if you are itemizing (IIRC).
Welcome to the 53%, who's job is to pay for the life-long welfare benefits of the 47%.
If the president's budget proposal passes, expect those taxes to go up a bit as the govt. raises the handouts to the "poor".
Don't hijack the thread with your baseless, tea party induced, hate poison.
To the OP, yes that sounds about right. Consider contributing to a 401k to reduce your taxable income. Also, invest in a good accountant. There are miscellaneous expenses written into the tax code that you can get back. "Get your billion back America."
The first pay stub you get at your first job is always a shocker. Your 28% sounds about right. If you look at your separate taxes for federal and state, they're taking out at the lowest rates. SS and Medicare make up the rest.
If you get a refund after a full year, you can add an extra exemption to your W-2 to get more pay per month. But only do this if you won't owe tax by doing so, as you might not have enough funds to comfortably pay it. A tax-deferred IRA or 401-K will help, too, if you can afford to sock any money away, which you might not be able to do yet.
guys I have just fallen into critical depression. I just signed up for 6 therapy session who can help me overcome this pain of 28% deductible. I hope I can continue to survive.
I may even try sending a letter to the federal government saying that they are killing me softly.
