My friend got injuried at work but he was working under the table, he got fired as while as his wife. He had 9 stiches in his head and a concussion. They have no money and alot of bills and two kids. Does anyone know of any grants or anything else that could be helpfull? Please. Thanks.

Yes, unemployment.. oooh, in order to collect unemployment you have to pay taxes, and not collect welfare at the same time.. scratch that...
Grants are usually not used for this purpose, but if they are having trouble paying things like utlity bills, they may be eligible for help through their local chapter of the Salvation Army. Do they go to church? They can petition the church for help.
Are they working yet, actively looking for work - not under the table? If not, one of them should be.
I remember a guy my hubby used to work for would say, If you get hurt, you're fired before you hit the ground!
Yeah my friend cant work for at least 6 months and his wife needs to drive him back and forth to doctors but she is trying to get a job shes applied to like 5 jobs but no one seems to be hiring. Thanks for all the info.

Is your friend in Hawaii too? I thought they had state-run health care there.
I fail to understand WHY....when you willfully avoid "The System" by working under the table and not paying taxes, you would immediately run TO the system and ask them to make you better......To quote the song "One way or the otherrrrrr"
I agree.... getting a assistance with the medical bills should be a top priority.
As for the rest of the creditors, they should try to reach out to them and explain their situation...should buy them some time at the very least.
