Hey, I currently have a 30-year term life insurance plan.

My primary job is as a software developer, which is obviously very low risk. However, due to some recent financial issues, I was forced to take a temporary job for a few months at a local amazon warehouse. After going through Amazon's new hire orientation today, I've realized this can be a somewhat hazardous job.

Does anyone know if my life insurance company needs to be made aware of this? My concern is obviously that they'll raise my monthly rates but the larger concern would be my family not receiving my life insurance payout in the event something happens to me while working at amazon (even though the chances of that are very slim).

Thanks

Warehouse jobs are not 'hazardous'

But when you're again ready to reconsider your insurance needs and plans...
don't forget disability.

Risk assessment is done at application and somewhat at renewal. What you do after you get the policy has no bearing on the policy continuation, unless you had the "intent" of participation in an asked peril. If you "intend" to acquire a motorcycle at time of application, you may be created even though you have never rode a motorcycle. ... This why I bought LI for our son at the eve of going to a residential-private, East coast university. IIRC, his blood draw was done at the airport. He needs to up his LI to $1mil from $350. Age 34, single, homeowner with relatively small debt, tech job.
See your insurance representative. YMMV.

Does the employer at the warehouse not offer health and life insurance to their employees? Most places that pay more than minimum wage do.

Life insurance policy through a job is usually rather small, but it would supplement your other insurance. If it is more than a $50,000 policy, your company is overly generous.

The bigger issue here is a Software Developer having to take on a physical labor side gig. The hardy hawks on the Work and Employment section of this site continue to bellow out jolly good cheer for this economy.

Go through the policy terms and conditions does it mention any life benefits or not. For more clarification, you may get a piece of advice from an insurance adviser or contact your insurance company directly.
