The only president to pay off the national debt was Andrew Jackson and it was a huge mistake

How so?, and why wouldn't executive order 11110 should it be re-used help reduce the deficit?.
We'll never know if JFK's plan would have succeeded, as of course he was shot 6 months later:

"Mr. Kennedy challenged the government of money by challenging the two most successful vehicles that have ever been used to drive up debt - war and the creation of money by a privately-owned central bank."
