Not saying I endorse it:

However, wouldn’t allowing the entire world and economy to crash (from the Covid)be the right thing to do from correcting society? Sending out the stimulus check, is that not just prolonging the inevitable?

There may be two assumptions you are making:

1. We actually know how those 'cycles' work, as if we had thousands of them before, under similar circumstances.

2. Corona is responsible for the inflated stock market, zero rates, etc.

Just browse through the posts here before anyone knew about the bug and see how 'healthy' the economy was. It would be convenient to blame it all on the virus though.

You are correct, but the last thing the governments and central banks want is for their multi-generational, global ponzi scheme to come crashing down. You have to understand that these people are spineless cowards, utterly devoid of principles and integrity.

I came up with this question today because I was having a conversation with my brother on the phone. He is in severe debt 900K with a home value of around 750K but he has a decent job...so when I said that grocery prices are predicted to increased by about $500 next year per house....the conversation derailed into conversation that avoided the concept of tougher times....I then started to ponder wouldn't it be better if the economy crashed...house prices tanked...people lose everything....so they can start over....my brother would be better off without the 900K debt (that we all know will never be repaid) and having to rent for 7 years.....

so then when I hear of a stimulus check coming to Americans....what exactly is that gonna do? Just seems to prolong the inevitable for the vast majority of folks as the can is just getting kicked down the road.

Please note: I ain't rich nor do I have a 6 figure job....I just play it safe and always lived like there was a rainy day ahead.

In good times and bad, it never hurts to live below your means.

when a baby is born, it will eventually die, isn't giving the baby food and water prolonging the inevitable?

Delaying the unavoidable crash only makes an already very dire predicament far worse.

same with delaying unavoidable death then right? We should withhold all nutrition and hydration and medical care from all human beings because, what's the point, they're all going to die.
