What do they say. "Knee high by the 4th of July." Looking at some of the pictures for the flood areas of the Midwest. I don't believe the corn stalks are going to make to shin high by then.
Oh well. Maybe this will spur scientist to figure out a way to create an enzyme that will allow humans to digest grass. Perhaps we can call it Golfase or something.

Humans already have something available that lets us digest grass. We call them cows. The cows process the grass into beef and milk.

Dent corn is about four feet high in fields around here. MUCH better than the drought situation last year. Even my sweet corn early plantings are over waist high.

1. The change over to going to grass for cattle will require quite a shift. I mean for the most part the beef and dairy farms that I know of only use corn because it just easier to fatten up the cows and make them better producers. Trying to change on a large scale over night will be tough. So in the mean time corn price are going to go up and that cost will be pasted on the dairy farmer that will eventually be past on the consumer. So it going to get really expensive soon for to run our grass distillation machines (a.k.a the cow.)
2. the Golfase Idea just sounds so much cooler than simply getting our nutrition the old fashion way. Gotta get hip man.

I'm glad your crop is doing well. I really do hope that the Midwest as a whole can pull it out. otherwise this could get ugly by fall.

maybe the government will stop turning corn into gas. doubt it though. It's their job to screw us over as much as they can. And we just sit back and watch these bureaucrats destroy this once great nation. It's disgusting. Where's our revolution? Where are the patriots? Where are the Sons of Liberty? Let's get our guns and march on Washington DC. Maybe the sheeple will see what kind of police state we live in when they try to mow down law abiding citizens that are merely armed and wanting to talk to our DC politicians face to face.
Nice thought..but factory farms don't have enough land to grass pasture the cows.
Have you seen king corn? Corn absolutely ruins those cows healthy, we are eating sick animals as a result. We need to over haul our agricultural systems.
