Need a bedpan or help walking to the bathroom? Oh, sorry, I didn't see your help light.
Peed in your bed? Aww, poor baby. I'll get right to it. (After my break.)
Wrong meal served or not served at all? Oh, dear. My bad.
Writhing in pain? I'll let the nurse know... Later. Much, much later...
Our local hospital had a nurse strike back when I was going every week for chemo, and was hospitalized a couple of times. There was no interruption in service, the nurses were only picketing while off duty. I never had to cross a picket line because I used the way back entrance where Oncology was.

First off inflation since the beginning of 2020 (before COVID and 3 years 9 months ago) has been 18.6% not 20%+. The unions are looking for much more than a 20% increase in wages and benefits though.

Not all "deserve" a pay raise - many were paid to not work and did not work a lot of 2020 and 2021. Pay and pay increases are set by the market, not what you think it should be.

TY. Just to be clear, I was responding to the poster's smug reference to "bedpan cleaners". In reality, Kaiser's picketers included licensed professionals as well as unskilled workers who keep the facilities running. It has been a very long time since I was a CCU (Cardiac Intensive Care) Nurse, but I continue to treat all workers with the respect they have earned.
