Today my son (and first-born) started Kindergarten. Anyone else send their first child to school for the first time this year? What are your thoughts?

We have a few years yet but I just wanted to say CONGRATS! Its such a big step in a child's life. I am looking forward to it but dreading it at the same time.

I had a huge party at the house by myself today! Maybe I am a bad mom, but I was celebrating my children starting school, my daughter is in the first grade and my son started kindergarten today. This is the first day I have been alone in 7 years and I loved every minute of it! Next week might be another story as I am lonely and depressed and ready to go to work at the school, but right now I am enjoying my new independence!

Today was my son's first day of kindergarten also. My daugther is a 2nd grader. They were so excited, if only that would last all year, lol. The kindergarten here is all day, so it was weird not having any kids home. I was able to do ALOT!

My son goes all day too. I still had my 3 year old daughter home with me all day, but it was so quiet! He did great, emotionally we both did great. It's so exciting to see him so interested in school, and he hasn't stopped talking about it since he got home. My daughter may start preschool next month. Now that will be very weird because I will be child-free for 6 hours a week, in the middle of the day! I won't know what to do with myself!
