I teach AP Euro and use a curve where if a kid can get over a 70% on the unit test then their true grade in the gradebook becomes a 100%. statistically if a kid can get 40% of the objective questions correct on an AP test then they have a good chance at a 3 or higher so i adjust my in class grading to match that.

Dang, I wish the grading was like that. If they get 70% on a unit test, they get 70% in the grade book. The kids are not happy about it and my daughter won't consider dropping the class because it's a matter of personal pride for her. The good news is the teacher is going to stop with the surprise quizzes and tests. They still won't know what to study for, but at least they will know when it will be.

Their AP Chem is on a curve, but there is a kid in the class who gets close to 100% on every test and it is throwing them all off. This is going to be a fun year.
