Hey guys. Ive been out of school since 2011And am just getting back into things. I currently have 7 courses which seems like a lot to me and even to some of my friends. I also suffer from anxiety disorder which may make things difficult for me. I was planning to drop my elective and English course and take them on my break. With it being the first week of class I can also drop them without penalty.

Seven classes? What is that, like 20 credits? Even if not that's an incredible time load to be in class and do the work.

Rules for dropping classes:

Drop only the ones you can make up easily (meaning not one that's only offered every third semester during an El Nino year)
Drop only the ones that aren't a prerequisite for the next level. That puts you behind.
Don't drop your advisor's class.

I never regretted dropping a class, whether I took it later or just decided to skip it altogether.

I did regret staying in some.

Its 6 credits total for the 2 courses. Im in Canada so it may be a bit different. Both these classes can be made up easily but it will take me longer to graduate.

I meant how many credits were the 7 courses.
If it is 21 credits, that's doable but a lot of work.
If some of those 7 courses are 1 credit courses, then that's different.

Most students I know carry between 15 and 18 credits any given semester.

It's 22 credits this semester. I have a day off, but even then it seems like a lot of work. I'm only 20 and this is my first time in college so I'm not really familiar with the workload.

Seven classes is too much. I'm surprised you were allowed by the school to take that many even if it is a Canadian school.

Well that's the standard for everyone in my program.. I talked to a couple people about it and they don't seem to have a problem with it.. I'll probably stick with it for a couple weeks and analyze the workload. If it's too much, I will drop the course.

My daughter took a semester with 22 credits (junior year engineering). She was able to handle it... only YOU know if YOU can.
