Can anyone recommend a good landscaping company? We bought a brand new house in September and having a dirt yard is getting old. We are interested in getting our rock wall raised, rocks in front and grass in back. What is a reasonable price to have a rock wall raised? We have gotten 2 quotes so far and the quotes for the rock wall were quite expensive and very different

Roberts Iron works 778-7626

Roberts Iron Works - Home

Raised the rockwall at my home from 3.5' to 6', for a length totaling 90 ft (one side was 35' long, the other was 55'). They charged me about 1500 for the job, but it was excellent work. The job was finished in a day and a half, and I have received compliments from my neighbors on the job they did. I was also impressed with how well they cleaned up after they had finished.

I dont know/think they do landscaping though...but its worth a shot.

Rivas Custom Landscaping just started doing work for us today. So far so good. They showed up when expected. Remember you get what you pay for. I think previous owners went with the low-ballers who did shoddy work.

This is probably a good time to get landscaping guys out....low season and they need to keep thier guys busy. We had called a couple of the more well known companies in EP just for estimates and they either now showed or don't call back. Experienced that a few times with EP contractors, even reputable ones. I guess they don't care about new business.

Just be careful that you find a reputable business. I know several people who got hit with scam artists. They'll offer a great deal but they need some money up front for supplies and to get started. If they're given this money, they're never seen again.

No recommendations but a little advice...you'll need a permit AND your neighbors permission on the other side of your rock walls, to make it higher. Otherwise, they can make you take it down.
