Hello my good people, hope all of you are well Today i was passing through cielo vista mall and i noticed that the letters that read cielo vista are all faded, their in desperate need of a paint job, or even better just new signeage. I also noticed that the electronic billboard that they have is really outdated, it still lights up with individial light bulbs to display the messages, alot of the light bulbs are out and you can hardly read what the sign says. I used to work in the mall about 13 years ago and it seems that the last time it received a good paint job! Suprising w the competition next door, cielo vista would step up its game! It looks old and outdated!

I wasn't impressed with the bland/boring "renovation" they did about 8 years ago. The new mall is big enough to hurt them. Cielo Vista is about 1.2 million sq ft (GLA) and the Fountains at Farah is about 600,000 sq ft.

So the mall needs an exterior update? I think the interior is fine. Seems like they update it every so often. I really don't mind the look as much as I dislike the lack of store variety.

I've only been there once, seemed like a typical mall to me. Interior was pretty nice but the exterior seemed somewhat dated. I lived on the west side I didn't go out to Cielo Vista very much.

Simon Malls has spent a lot of $$$ on the interior of Cielo Vista and has neglected Sunland Park. Supposedly, tenants at Sunland are complaining and threatening to leave if Simon doesn't put money into it....word is that Sunland should be looking to get an interior update. time will tell

Sunland Park Mall has always been quiet - unless it's just before Christmas. Friends work at 2 small independent stores at the mall and say they can go all day with just a couple of sales - or no sales. I doubt Simon will put money into the mall unless business picks up. Maybe the new bistro theater will help - the Vino Nuevo congregation didn't.

it always has puzzled the heck out of me why it isn't businer -- Sunland Park mall is so much better, more parking, etc. I rarely go to CV because of the parking and crowds. Not to mention I always get turned around there. I like SP better because it's an "L" shape and easy to get around.

Oh, well, at least with the Fountains at Farah, maybe that means there will be some parking available at CV.

I suspect that the outlet takes away some of the business away from SP Mall.

You guys think that's possible? I lived on Resler and Helen of Troy so SP Mall wasn't too far from me. I only went to CV just to see what it was like, not worth the drive for me unless there was a store in there I just had to go to.

I'm not much of a mall shopper except for specific stores that have locations at both malls. I think Sunland Park looks more run down than Cielo Vista on the outside. Violet West...I always get lost at Sunland Park...find CV much easier to navigate. lol
