I myself am not exempt to my own advice as i need to upgrade my HVAC skills and get my certification and then watch my finances boom. I see Hvac or Plumbers now making $100,000 a year but you do need schooling and so many years of being on the job if someone is willing to do it.

What you make depends on what your skills are, and what someone else is willing to pay for them. That simple.

yeap i agree Lipbalm.....I remember when my dad used to tell me that in the 50's and 60's you could get out of High School and go work at a factory making Refrigerators or Televisions or work in the Mines or Steel Mills etc..and have a job for 30 to 40 years and get a company pension etc...but those days are gone from our country.

Some kind of skill whether electronics, computers, mechanical trades etc...Even these new Aircraft factories up here with their high wages won't hire you unless you went an Aircraft school (Roswell or Dallas etc.)

I see the same Baby Boomers working at 7/11 here in ABQ where i go and gas up my truck and they complain about hating their job and the low pay but they will not go to a community college or trade school to better themselves so what can you say if you catch my drift......

Thats because no company today wants to take the time to train a person on how to do the job. They want to give that responsibility to a School.. make the person looking for work, find the funding to get trained to do a job for us, instead of them forking out any funds to hire, train and get you working. It is all about the all mighty dollar now adays and not the people.. and thats why our society will fail.

Yeah ....what ever happened to the government program known as the JTPA or Job Training Partnership Act where the Federal Gov paid 50% of your salary while the company trained you.

Also Nafta is a big Boondoggle in my opinion from what i've seen over these last 10 years or so since Clinton passed it.
