Years back there was going to be a community called Butterfly Trail built outside the city limits via Montana Ave way past the airport. When I was a senior in high school in the 1970's, I purchased some property out there however the community was never built due to a tragedy to the planner of that community. At the time this land was some 15 to 20 miles outside the El Paso City limits. Does anyone know if anything has been built in what was going to be Butterfly Trail? Of if there are any plans on building out there? Any information anyone can provide me will be greatly appreciated.

Well can you give us a google map of about where your land is/was? If you can do that we can better tell you whats going on out there.. there has been a whole lot of building going east of El Paso.. so I am sure the land you have has been built on or around.

Muhnay....that would help a lot huh? BTW, also getting the right name which is Butterfield Trail. I'll have to figure it out where it is because the city line has shifted east from where it was back in the 70's. I might have to contact City Records and ask for specifics. Thanks for trying though!

Oh yeah.. it meets up with Horizon now.. Growing up there was noting past Yarbrough, now you have houses and businesses all the way to Horizon exit and a little beyond.

There is a Butterfield Trail Business area near the Air Port. Could this be what your thinking of?

Now that you've mentioned this, I will have to check city records and see where my property ended up. Thanks for the info. This was my first investment ever while I was in high school. I remember having to ask my mother to co-sign with me because I was not of age to sign into contract.

Well theres a sign on Global Reach/Founders Blvd where the new Golf course is that reads "Historic Butterfield Trail" So im guessing that Global Reach and Founders is Butterfield Trail. This road is a shortcut from the eastside on Montana/Yarbrough to Airport Road and Fred Wilson. Soon there will be a freeway connecting Lp 375 and US54 built there. The area is still pretty empty except for the new golf course.
I think this is the area you are talking about
