DC Comics superhero the Blue Beetle, reincarnated in 2006 as El Paso teenager Jaime Reyes, makes his TV debut at 6 p.m. Friday on cable Channel 62-Cartoon Network (digital cable Channel 130).Moderator cut: remainder of excerpt from http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2008/11/14/3787561.htm
This article came out right before the DC Comic Blue Beetle was retired. It will run until issue 36. Then the Blue Beetle character will probably join another title. DC is very high on the El Paso character. Pretty cool I thought. El Paso is/was routinely featured in the comic book.

Check it out - the first two pages of the comic book, with an obvious El Paso landmark on page 2:

DCU | Heroes and Villains

I wish I could find an old scan I had. It was a page from an issue where Superman is saving the El Paso downtown courthouse from collapse.
