I spent several hours in the northeast, Far East, east, and west side today. I didn't encounter trash in the streets or sidewalk at all.

Sometimes you see trash. Most of the time, the trash is on the side in the dirt. I will say though, LA is filthier than El Paso.

And you would be terribly wrong. It's not even similar.

Juarez/El Paso Metropolitan Area population - 2.7m
Houston Metropolitan Area population - 6.5m

I actually moved away from El Paso, and honestly, I could not be happier. Reasons I say El Paso is dirty is because most other cities I've been to are cleaner. Even one of my friends mentions other cities are cleaner. But we are all entitled to our own opinions. I know some people who like El Paso and some who don't, and I am just one of them who does not like it. I have other reasons too besides it being dirty.

I just said that because El Paso feels overcrowded, and from what I heard, traffic has gotten far worse and has become a duplicate of Austin traffic. For a city its size, it feels too crowded.

The only reason you might possibly see it more in El Paso is because there is not a lot of green vegetation to hide it. So if there is light/white debris, it stands out more. Houston is much dirtier than El Paso, but you don't see it because grass and bushes hide it well. I've been all over the world, and the big cities are worse. London, Paris, Barcelona... you see all the nice buildings, but what you don't see is the feces all over the sidewalks, urine on any corner, post, and not just by dogs. Vomit in the city centers every Saturday and Sunday mornings to greet you. The big cities are crowded, and all that filth cannot hide, and be spread, so you have to literally walk over it.

At least in El Paso you can spot and pick it up if you want to; other cities it is just there. No one gives a shyt either, their attitude is that it is not their problem.

Lastly, I travel to the Middle East once, or twice a year for business, and like El Paso, I see it, but they have no vegetation to mask it either. But trust me, Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio have much more debris strewn around.

Phoenix however is very clean. There is no vegetation there, but they keep it clean. You might be right about other big cities being dirty. I know for sure LA is dirtier because I've been there.

I remember going to Hawaii several years ago and we were taken around the outskirts areas. It is like HTBU states, there is vegetation around to cover up all the crap and junk. I saw that with junk and old cars and trash around , it is just that there are beautiful trees and greenery to hide it or camouflage it.

If anything , the wind is to blame as trash gets blown around that might have been collected but then the container was turned over or the trash trucks have stuff blown out while driving.
