Hello,

I'm a civilian who will be transferring from my current duty station in Japan to William Beaumont Army Medical Center in a couple of weeks.

My wife and I plan on renting a home somewhere in El Paso. What are some nice areas/subdivisions/etc within 5-10 miles of the hospital I'll be working at?

Thanks.

I'd say the nicest areas to live near that area are north central neighborhoods like Manhattan Heights or Austin Terrace. Not sure if you're into the old house thing, but these are classy historic neighborhoods that deserve a look I think. Hope it helps..

The Mountain Park area above Alabama ave is a very nice neighborhood and it's close to Beaumont.

That's exactly where I was going to suggest.

We bought a home up on Ridgeview lane above Alabama years ago, and it was quiet and nice. There are several decent apt. complexes in that area too. And actually, to the north of that newer (well it was new when I lived there anyway) development on Ridgeview, and north of that senior living place, and still above Alabama/Magnetic, there are some very nice older developments that have beautiful views.
