Today's El Paso Times has something about the upcoming Ysleta ISD elections, including a bond issue split into five items.

One of these items is $48 million to build two new elementary schools in Northeast.

I kind of saw this coming. Somebody at YISD said that the district didn't anticipate seeing growth due to BRAC, but why wouldn't it? It's right up against Fort Bliss, it's not terrible, and although Ysleta ISD's section of the East Side may be built out, its section of Northeast has plenty of room to grow, even when you just count potential infill development, or so it seems to me.

Are they building both of these new elementary schools around Dyer and Mesquite Hills?

(From the article: )

Quote:
YISD is now building two new schools in the Lower Valley.
Del Valle Elementary, the one they want to build on that city park on Escobar Drive, is one of them. What's the other one?
