....due to lack of interest. Hmm. I wonder why THAT would be? Isn't Perry confident about winning that? Isn't Romney comfortable about maintaining his "front-runner" status?
I wonder if it might be that Ron Paul has picked up SO MUCH MOMENTUM that he would CREAM them and embarrass them so early on..... After all he handily won the California GOP Straw Poll (with 45% of the vote and Perry got only 29%)... and got a rock star welcome by THRONGS of supporters.
Maybe we'll see lots MORE CANCELLATIONS of GOP polls the more frightened the GOP becomes that Ron Paul is INDEED the "favorite". One study shows that Texans would be inclined to favor Ron Paul by as much as 22%!
Don't worry about it. Straw polls are fairly meaningless.
that's right! they're meaningless when Ron Paul wins, but if Bachman, Perry, or Romney wins, then they tell a story of how the winner will parlay that into a nomination...

I would love to see how many have won straw polls lately and gone on to get the nomination? In fact, what is all this about straw polls anyway? Until the past few years no one made anything out of them or knew they existed for the most part.

(1) Straw polls are rather meaningless. If they had significant predictive skill, then Mitt Romney would have won in the nomination in 2008 and Pat Robertson would have won in 1988.
(2) Romney is not the frontrunner right now, so I don't know what you are talking about.
(3) I want to learn more about the candidates, not these silly straw polls.
(4) If Ron Paul was indeed so popular, then he would be polling higher in ALL polls, national and statewide. He doesn't.

I think everybody is taking a rest from helping the undermanned, underfunded firefighters battle forest fires in TX.
Besides, I think somebody up above provided a link that Perry was trailing after Paul won California's straw poll.
Straw polls are basically meaningless. Mitt Romney has said that he spent a lot of his campaign money participating in straw polls in the last election and that he would not make that mistake this time around. They are not a predictor of anything except how much money you put into them.

Exactly what you say, except how much money is spent putting into them. Otherwise meaningless.
