Presidency 5

The voting is going on now and they are interviewing the voters about their opinions of the candidates.

Some think Ron Paul will do well to come in third because it costs $175 to get in to vote as most of his supporters don't have that money to spend on a ticket to get in to the event.

Ron Paul is speaking now! Well he was supposed to speak. they announced him and someone else came out and gave a good speech about him instead. Then Cain came out. Then Santorum and now Gingrich is speaking. They are going to announce the poll winner at 5:45.

Default Herman Cain wins FL straw poll -- does it mean anythng?

Not a surprise, really. But probably means nothing.

Right?

Bachmann won iowa and her ship is sinking fast. Straw polls are basically useless.

One news segment I listened to said that the Florida straw caucus correctly selected the Republican nominee three out of four times. However, I was not real impressed with this simple statement (with no other explanation; was it three out of the last four elections?)

I do think it will give Mr Cain some 'legs' for awhile, and draw more money in.

I was very, very surprised at how quickly Ms Bachmann's campaign has sunk (she was last place, with 1.4 percent of the vote, if I recall the numbers correctly).

Let me see. Cain wins Florida. Paul won CA. TX didn't have a straw poll.

Paul's Win in CA:
Paul won with 44.9%
Perry 29.3%
Romney 8.8%

Cain's Win in FL:

Cain won with 37.1%
Perry: 15.4 percent
Romney: 14 percent

So out of these 2 big states - Romney and Perry win neither - so....
they do have something in common after all

All it means is that Cain won't drop out of the race a month from now, it will be two months.

Too soon to say. Florida is traditionally the indicator as to who will win the GOP primary.

I think (hope) he'll knock Bachmann out of the primary runnings.
