There are some interesting musings about the recent or expected turn of events in the GOP campaign in this article.

"......Major new negative stories about Perry will soon emerge in the media. Trust me. Perry will drop out long before the year ends. If he dropped out today Ron Paul could well be in second place. Will pundits say it is a two-man race between Romney and Paul?....."

Against Obama he's always had high ratings but against Perry and Romney it varies. Some of those polls still show Perry in first place so I guess that will become a thing of the past and his votes will be split amongst the rest.
