The people on this board are prime examples why many turn away from the republican party.

It's SO offensive to say "Educated black people are republicans" and people know this.

There are educated people on BOTH sides. There are racists on BOTH sides. Trailer park whites in the GOP? You betcha. Trailer park whites in the Democratic party? Yep. Bat$hit crazies on both sides? Hell to the eff yeah. Millionaires in the GOP? Of course! Millionaires in the Democratic party? OMG hell yes!

Bill Gates - billionaires? Uh...yeah yes
Democrat? OMG, why yes he is.

Only an idiot would say "Oh but he's not educated because he dropped out of Harvard"

Yes, well Bush graduated and went to Harvard business school and we know he's a few Crayons short. Sarah Palin is a whole bag of Skittles short of the rainbow but I guess she's more "educated" than Bill Gates because she actually has a paper college degree she earned over honorary degrees, right GOP crazies of the Elections board?

truck on you smark people, truck on.

You must have missed Maxine Waters' reaction to it. For some reason, I don't think she appreciated it at all.

And in your own way, you are being just as ignorant and stereotypical. "Trailer park whites" is a good example of the same sort of speech that is problematic. Do you think only white folks live in trailers and do you think that only uneducated white people live in trailers? I bet some educated people live in them also. It is also not a fact or in any way proven that Bush or Sarah Palin are a few 'skittles or crayons' short of anything just because you do not agree with their point of view.

It's the same as people saying 'educated black people' are Republicans, which we know is not a fact, but because they agree with what they say, they seem smarter and more educated. You are no different, but it makes you upset when it is turned around on you and those that you identify with.

Oh, I saw her reaction. The first thing that sprung to my mind was that she's complaining about how Obama "won't do anything about unemployment for black people", yet she's in congress, and has not introduced any plan of her own. The second thing that came to my minds is that she was one of many members of the CBC who refused to endorse Obama until long after it was clear that he had won the primaries. So I put two and two together and realized that yes, she does deserve to be called out.

(And the whole "Obama wouldn't say that to a non-black audience" thing runs into the problem that he has, in fact, said the same thing to non-black audiences.)

...and if a white president said those things to a black audience?

wrong. success in the black community is when you've been to jail a few times, shanked a few people, sold crack and moved on up to the east side..
