No, demanding that Perry resign or filing a lawsuit or organizing a march to the formerly offensive rock would be playing the race card. Milking a word written on a rock years ago on a property not owned by Perry for everything it's worth is playing the race card. Cain is not doing that, but you can count on the left wing spinmeisters who wouldn't give Cain the time of day to do so.

So is Cain correct? Is Rick Perry insensitive toward Black people?

So as long as you don't organize a march or file a lawsuit, it's not playing the race card?

Cain may very well be correct. But no, calling someone insensitive isn't playing the race card and you know it. Your attempt to delegitimize any and all criticisms of race card playing comes across as coy and disingenuous.

Hermain's worried about what they may have be hunting back in the day at that camp, He might have to get a head start out in front of Perry just to be safe.

Herman Cain says he's offended. WTF? I didn't know black conservatives would play the "victim" card. I thought it was the black conservative position that there IS no racism in the US. If a black man doesn't prosper in the US today, it's because he's lazy or brainwashed, right

Perry denounces hunting camp story; opponents pounce - The Washington Post
When??? Where???...does Cain say he's offended by said rock???

I did see him on Chris Wallace this a.m. and to Wallace's inquiry, Cain replied he thought it 'Insensitive'. I don't recall him saying he was offended.

Are you siting some other source? From your link...

Meanwhile, Perry’s opponents in the 2012 presidential campaign began to pounce on the story, including Herman Cain, the lone African-American in the GOP race, who called the term “insensitive.”

Um...generally most people don't call out something as insensitive unless they take some offense to it. But go ahead and parse words all you want.

Default Must every right wing response be "Obama"

Perhaps you didn't read the thread. This isn't about Obama, but nice attempt at derailment

As a Texan I can't stand Perry and don't want him to win the nomination. However, there are legitimate reasons to argue against Perry, just as there are legitimate reasons to be against Obama. If what Perry says is true, that his father painted over the graffiti when they first leased the ranch, then this is a non- issue to me. It's like people being against Obama because they think he was born in Kenya or is a socialist plant, as opposed to not liking him because he is a weak leader and a poor executive.

As there are unconfirmed reports that what Perry says is not true, that the graffiti was visible as recently as 2008, then that's another story. But so far I've not read any article that offers any solid proof of these assertions, so as a rational person I can't give them any credence yet.

Just because I dislike Perry and don't want him as the nominee, I'm not going to convince myself to believe or spout facts that I believe are untrue just because they might convince others to vote against him. I'd like to think this is what separates rational conservatives from the birthers and certain elements of the Tea Party.
