I work with a lot of black folks, and I've been telling them that Obama is in trouble. That has come as news to some of them. They are all 100 percent behind him, and they need to show up in HUGE numbers if Obama is going to pull this thing off. I love the idea of Obama winning big and the pundits attributing it to black voters. The media gets all excited about the Jewish vote, or the Latino vote, or the Soccers moms, NASCAR dads, people over 30 who watch the Big Bang Theory, etc., but for some reason when it comes to black voters it's always .. oh yeah, them.
They are almost 50 percent of the vote in Mississsippi, Georgia and Alabama. They are 10 percent of all eligible voters. The black vote is an extremely important vote. I think Obama can take Georgia if he really tried. He'd have to push for a record black turn out here -- them, plus the transplants in the Atlanta area, could put him over the top in this state.
This is why I keep saying look at the census numbers. The black vote is there and let's be honest, the GOP hasn't exactly done much to drum up Hispanic support. In fact, it's been quite the opposite.

Karl Rove has been looking at those census numbers for years now. He clearly sees the Republican Party is in trouble unless it starts "tanning." I agree with him. The Republicans have to start appealing to non white voters if they want to remain relevant.
