It's not so simple of answer to say that would solve anything and as Michelle said, turn it upside down, you'll see the true mark of the beast.

I don't want any taxes raised. None. Maybe at some later date but not now.

Many conservatives believe burger flippers don't pay enough taxes.

Even though a full time burger flipper pays $500 federal income tax in 2011.

Cains plan essentially is just to tax the snot out of everyone and everything to give a colossal cut to the rich. Just look at the shot santorum took at him in the recent debates, it's so out there even those on the hard right know it's nuts.
The republican voters who have supported him don't know it's nuts. Hopefully they'll wake up before it's too late.

Actually it says you can go to your Church or local Charity
That's part of his plan--to get rid of social security and medicare as well. The churches and local charities are going to cover the medical costs and retirement of all of our seniors. As far as the 18% in taxes go--it won't just be 18%. It will also include whatever state and local sales taxes are paid in your area. Where I live it's about 7%. That means that low and middle income people who currently only pay the 7% sales tax will be paying 25% of their income in taxes. Figure out how to pay rent or buy food on minimum wage with that...

Cain is the flavor of the month--this is a radical plan, and he's not going to go anywhere. He has a catchy title for a really stupid economic plan. I don't like Romney personally, but he's going to get the nomination.

The racism is strong among the anti-Cain folks. The neo-progs can't envision a black president in the WH.

The 9% sales tax is the only way you'll ever successfully tax the rich in America. In fact, forget income tax entirely and have a 15% sales tax, no exceptions or exemptions.

The sad thing is when he came up with this gimmick, he probably didn't realize that the Republican field was going to be so sorry this year that he was actually going to be a contender. If he would have stayed away from this garbage 9-9-9 plan, he might have actually had a shot.

As it is, this plan is a total, total loser. The Right and Left have good reason to hate this. Good for Santorum last night for just popping the bubble and not humoring Cain. Santorum hit the perfect note - he basically said, get real! That plan stinks. It doesn't have a chace.

Santorum's plan is actually kind of nice. He's right too -- it does have appeal a lot of appeal to Democrats. Old school Perot fans should like it too. Rebuild America's manufacturing base? What's not to like. Too bad he has no chance.
you are just being racist because he is black

That may be a good idea for you, but for the majority of americans who are already hurting asking them to pay 18% more taxes is DOA. This is his plan and he has been pushing it. Now people are starting to look at the details, and they don't like what they are seeing.

I believe Cain will defend his plan and the more he defends it, the deeper in the hole that he will get.

The 999 plan is unfair to anyone that has saved any money and then wants to spend it. This would be double taxation because you already paid income tax on the saved money. Then the 999 plan would add the huge sales tax when you spend that money.
