I think you'd better start looking around at what happened to tea party candidates and issues last night. Like I said--it's not anti-republican or pro-democrat, it's anti tea party. There's a difference.
I agree. The Republicans need to distance themselves from the fringe tea party group, if they hope to have any hope in the 2012 elections.
Only six posts in and now we are already deflecting to Obama. The point of the thread is that these radical tea party republicans are not the way to go. Voters are already having buyers remorse for voting in these radical republicans. I don't think a radical republican has a chance of getting elected in 2012. People now know what they are about, and they don't like it.
Ignoring the vote down of the ObamaCare mandate. Of course.
Funny, the pendulum is swinging to the right in many cases. 2010 shellacking. Wiener's seat.
Oh people now know, all right. Taxpayer dollars to campaign contributors. Botched Fast and Furious, where the guy in charge is either incredibly guilty, or incredibly stupid. Laws passed with sketchy procedures, with promises that you need to pass the bill to know what's in it. Foreign military intervention without congressional approval.
Well that is the same state that voted for him. Obviously, this heavily union state would not have voted for him in the beginning if they knew what he was all about. So we don't forget, Ohio is a key swing state. No Republican has ever been elected for President without pulling Ohio. So yes, how voters in Ohio feel is very important.
APparently, they have a bad taste in their mouth from electing a tea party republican. I don't see them making the same mistake twice.
So you think the union vote is key, but the ObamaCare vote is irrelevant?
Because there were few national candidates and issues this election day, all of the labor money could be funneled into Ohio to skew the results. Next year, when the whole country is at stake the labor money will be diluted and the American conservative majority will be heard.
And in an off year, only the folks that care passionately about an issue show up to vote. Well, and get paid to vote.

See ya in 2012.
Well that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. However, the fact is that no Republican Presidential candidate has ever won without Ohio. The best thing for Democrats to have happen is that Ohio elected a TeaParty candidate. Now they know what they are all about, and they no likey.
That decision will bankrupt the state. We'll see how they like it when that happens...
The unions are still doomed, other states will pass the same law and stay with it..

The American conservative party was heard, in 2010. In 2011, the American voting public decided they didn't like the message after all. Spin it however you like, the Tea Party had a bad night last night. Their extreme positions were rejected in Ohio, Mississippi and Arizona. This was the warm-up act for next November.

Talk to us in a year, when the state is in worse shape than it is in today. This vote doesn't guarantee in any way a victory next year.
It's great to see the people of Ohio standing together to overwhelingly defeat this fascist govener's attemp to divide them.
