We are broke! Do we have to educate the world as our own people who are American citizens go to the poor house?
There is order to things here.. Do illegals have a right to go to a car lot and drive away a car and not pay for it? Did they earn it? No.. and so it is with our government give aways on the tax payers money. And we will be taxed to death soon.
Do you realize 17 trillion american dollars was wired to Mexico since 1998 by Mexicans working here . That money is no longer circulating in our economy. 17 Trillion dollars is in Mexico from our economy.
what the DREAM act does:
This bill would provide conditional permanent residency to certain illegal aliens of good moral character who graduate from US high schools, arrived in the US as minors, and lived in the country continuously for at least five years prior to the bill's enactment.

due to bad policy decisions, we have to keep feeding and housing more people who are falling into poverty, as poverty INCREASES in america.
when a country can't take care of its own citizens, it has no business bringing more people into the country.

the government would EXPLOIT our current working poor and the lower classes to serve their own agenda. you don't think wages drop when more people enter the country looking for work? you don't think our collective standard of living drops, as well?
who is looking out for the citizens here? it may be good for those on the very top (with cheaper wages) , but not so much for the average citizen in this country.
We can take care of our own but some Republicans don't want to.
Today the mexicans in mexico make around 2 dollars an hour. When the illegals come here they make 10-15 dollars an hour plus food stamps and housing if they have anchor babies.
I remember the garment factories in 1970 and they made 1 to 2 1/2 dollars an hour. The american people worked hard in those factories and got very little.. today the illegals get much more than the working class americans back in the 70's. All of their money went to cost of living back then and no toys to be had and many women worked in the factories and got little to show for it.
So what goes on now is a disgrace to those Americans who were born here and lived in poverty working hard in sweat shops all of their lives. No hand outs back then!

Don't forget about free health care and WIC. There are many poor legal citizens who still do without many of the things they need. The working poor have a very hard time in this country, especially with the rising cost of living.
again, why do some not see how much is interconnected?
the DREAM act ultimately IS about turning illegal immigration into legal immigration and opening the gates wider, through devious methods.
depriving our children of their right to an education is (at least in my opinion) not helpful by our legislators-but it is pretty obvious since the bailouts that they are not looking out for the american citizens at all anymore.
does anyone think we don't have enough trouble with student loan debt and former students having a hard time finding gainful employment, while saddled with that debt? (which, by the way, is not dischargeable)-not to mention further tuition inflation, which is already hurting everyone.
if the government was SO concerned, they would be concentrating on that angle of it before they decided to try and let more "students" into the system. it's a joke anymore, but not a funny one.

we may have a country we don't recognize in a few years if the rule of law continues to be ignored by those at the very top-you know, the law enforcers.....
Many states are already unrecognizable.
