Even his fellow candidates managed to misfire on what he said by taking one sentence out of context. It was great campaign tactics but such a monstrous lie on their part. Oh, I forgot to say that Obama's people attacked him for the same words. It is the very nasty time of year.

The words that Romney said around the words he was attacked for saying were:

"I want individuals to have their own insurance. That means the insurance company will have an incentive to keep you healthy. It also means if you don't like what they do, you can fire them. I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. You know, if someone doesn't give me a good service that I need, I want to say I'm going to go get someone else to provide that service to me."

You can also see a number of government employees who can't be fired but not why that is.

you have to understand that most of the people who are excoriating romney over his comment are anti capitalists. note that ron paul defended romney comments.

Ron Paul, Rick Perry and the rest of the R line up are anti capitalists?

Ron Paul isn't, but Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich have sure made comments that suggested they're not very supportive of capitalistic ideals when criticizing Romney.

I actually agree with him completely. That is what the free market is all about. I can fire an employee or a company that I do not feel is giving me value for my money just as my customers can fire me for the same reason. However Romney's reasons for firing lots of people had more to do with moving jobs elsewhere for lower pay. Many of the companies Bain wrecked were not companies that were in trouble or going broke. They were making a profit. Bain just bought them to make an even bigger profit at the expense of many loyal employees that worked for them. Romney can spin it any way he wants but it is going to be a problem for him because Obama is going to put out a commercial sooner or later that says "Mitt Romney eliminated 120,000 jobs and I have created a million jobs" and if unemployment rates are down, the public may well buy that argument.

Do you have some facts to back those statements up? Like names of companies, profits at the time of Bain invesing in them, profits after Bain invested in them? Sometimes it may seem to the employees that profit is being made, but actually it's not. Employees are not always privy to all that might be going on.
