i love the obsession with gun laws...as if there is a shot in heck that anything will change. at best, something like the assault weapons ban might make a comeback. SCOTUS has pretty much struck down anything hinting at real gun control and punted it back to individual states and cities to decide on what restrictions to have.

Though don't let facts get in the way, all a right wing candidate has to do is pull the "Der gunna take yer gunzzz!" rhetoric, and the fools eat it up.

When I hear this old chestnut I have to ask, "Exactly who is going to take all guns away from Americans?" I can't think of a single entity that would follow such a directive, from the military down to the local police department. It does conjure up a vision of people in tie-died shirts and Birkenstocks risking life and limb to do it themselves.

Pretty much anything "conservative" appears to be along those lines... they trumpet "states' rights" the most but when it comes to national government, they push for federalism, be it gay marriage, second amendment, tort reform...

I expect there will be many more "write ins". Wouldn't surprise me to see issues around those in different precincts.

I just voted for Newt and will vote for Obama this fall.

RealClearPolitics - 2012 Election Maps - Battle for White House

Looking at the real clear electoral map it seems like everyone is assuming mittens will win and then lose to Obama.

I'm voting for Ron Paul in the primary. Assuming he's not the nominee, I'll vote for Obama.

I am curious djacques. Why would you not do a "write in"?

Constitutional Conservatives do not push federalism, that is the action of Progressives within the GOP (a.k.a. RINOs). Even the Evangelical self-proclaimed conservatives were not Constitutional Conservatives (see Bachman & Santorum).
