Santorum has been making an incredibly long (and rambling) "victory speech." Didn't he get the memo?
Victory for Santo means keeping Romney from getting as many delegates as he can. Also, Newt is really down - worse than even Paul - and that is a big plus for the good guys on the right looking to Louisiana.

You mean preventing Romney from hitting 1144. It seems like that will be nearly impossible, pending an unforeseen scandal.

Santorum lives in his own little world. I don't think that the RNC wants a brokered convention, but don't see much chance of anyone dropping out yet.
No, they won't vote for Obama. But they may not take time to vote for Romney either. And it's the "base" that does the work in the campaign - getting out the vote, making the robocalls. No enthusiasm for that with Romney. It's not about MS, or Illinois. It does matter in OH, and PA though. Romney is way too liberal for today's Republican voter to get enthused over.
Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I told you why I think people who don't like Romney as much as the other candidates will turnout anyway, you told me why you think they wouldn't. We'll see in November. What I will say is that they turned out for McCain. Yes, I know McCain didn't win, but it wasn't because of poor conservative turnout. It's because independents went overwhelmingly for Obama, and even some Republicans crossed over. This battle, like 2008, will be a battle for independents. And Obama will not have the advantage he had in 2008. Romney isn't looking too great with them now either, to be fair, but again, we will see come November.
Santorum-"We are winning the places where there are Republicans and Conservatives"
This man is a joke.
He does realize EVERYONE voting in the REPUBLICAN primary is Republican/Conservative, right? (Other than the Dems that cross over to vote for him. He does very well with self-identified Democrats and Liberals). Most Illinois Republicans actually live in Cook County, Rick. Some of us Conservatives live in major metropolitan areas, and I'm tired of people implying that that supposedly makes us any less Republican/Conservative.
