Liberal Charlie Cook was asked on MSNBC why Obama is struggling pollwise in Iowa. His response,"He's a metrosexual and rural people don't like that".

Obama is also a cunning linguist and a master debtor, who compulsively matriculated every day in college.

Iowans don't go for that stuff either!

He's actually pretty big, founder of the Cook political report and, more famously, the Cook PVI (Partisan Voting Index) which is very widely used by many in politics to see how Democratic/Republican a state or Congressional district is relative to the rest of the country.

That being said, that's sort of an odd comment. I wouldn't even consider Obama a metrosexual, but regardless that's a weird thing to say in my opinion. And Obama won Iowa in the 2008 caucuses and in the 2008 General election. He's the same guy he was back then. The only difference is now they've seen his policies fail. And that's why they're not voting for him/

I don't think that terms applies to O. Aren't those the guys who are super concerned about their clothes, hair, and bling?

Like David Hasselhoff or something?

That's what I thought, but then again I'm from the East Coast Boston-to-DC- urban Megalopolis chain, so perhaps my standards of metrosexuality are higher than the standards of the typical Iowan.
