I dunno about your statement in bold below. I'm about as average as can be, and don't want any President meddling in the economy, much less trying to micromange its direction and focus. Central planning, much less central control always fails. Even the most successful global companies struggle when they try to centrally plan and control. Instead, they set big picture strategic goals, and let the local country/regions work flexibly within that framework.
Btw, I am not a Ron Paul devotee.

Everyone except the fringe-right wants the government to improve the economy. Ron Paul's view is that "governments aren’t supposed to run the economy." In other words, just let the chips fall where they may. I don't think that the average American wants that kind of economic hands-off president.
Nor does the average American want to abolish the Fed and go back to the gold standard that was replaced for good reason. More now, one can't leave the government out of monetary policy, especially when money is now longer green pieces of paper with dead presidents on them.
It's just so silly posting "Ron Paul would own him" and thinking we all have to take your opinion at face value. Personally, Ron Paul has nutcase ideas that are difficult to defend in the modern world. I am sure President Obama would go easy on him -- akin to going easy on a senile old man in a nursing home.
I dont know where the hell you got that opinion from. Hell, I had a discussion with a GM union employee on Monday who couldnt stop bashing Obama and his interferrance with the economy. And you dont get more left wing than union workers who just got bailed out by the Government.
The irony is there is a very good chance that particular employee may not have had a job without the government involvement in the bankruptcy and restructuring of GM. There is difference between an opinion and an informed opinion.
You had your chance. Chin shinning and hands down.
I don't even know what that is supposed to mean but I will reiterate my view. It's a waste of time arguing with someone who thinks that Ron Paul will get inside the White House in any role besides a guest.

What record, would Obama be able to debate Ron Paul on ANY of the issues, with.
The answer is yes, of course, but we'll never have the opportunity as Ron Paul won't be invited to the presidential debate, as he won't be a candidate.

If you allow the Democrats to distract from the issues, then we're doomed to lose.
GOP, stop letting the Democrats distract from the issues facing America. Stop talking about gay marriage, some imaginary "black Abe Lincoln" advertisement that doesn't exist, Rev Wright, who no one cares about, and lets get to the real issues, Obama's college transcript, whether he meant roads or businesses when he said "that"; and of course, whether he really needs a teleprompter.

Since so much time has passed, will you finally admit that Romney can't run on being Romney?
I support small government. I support the Constitution. I support cutting out socialist programs. I support personal property. I support gun ownership. I support we drill for oil right here in the USA. I support limited spending. The list goes on.
What I do NOT support is some neo con phony Republican and Tea Partiers who were bought and paid for to become one in the same.
I support the true Republican Party, I do not support the new, progressive Republican Party.
Again, when the GOP pulls their heads out of their butts and gets back to being who we once were, I will then, once again, support their candidate. Until then, I refuse to support some sock puppet for a bunch of neo-cons.
You are the type of Republican I like: One who appreciates policy matters and not phony arguments that only distract us from the real issues.
I'm glad there are still reasonable Republicans out there.
