Obama barely beat a convicted felony last week. Thats far different from McCain.

Most likely had no idea who the guy was,and again this is in a state in which Republicans have gotten about triple the Democratic vote for President they do nationwide

You are correct, they most likely didnt know who the guy was, proving they will vote for anyone, other than Obama.

True, but considering Obama didn't have these voters in 2008 either and still won nationwide by a little over 7, it doesn't mean a whole bunch in the whole scheme of things

Who cares, obama also pulled less than 60% (somewhere in that area) agaist a convicted felon....

So, that's 2 states that obama went basically against himself, and won, with an extrememly low margin.....

Now I know thats only 2 of the 57 states...oh wait....

Anyway you really can't make any comparisons between the states Obama hasn't done well in the Primaries in, with the states you mentioned such as NC, OH and PA. If you look at the Democratic vote in these states in 2008 (and you can go back further than that in most of them) it will show that McCain took over 25% and upwards of 30% of the Democratic vote in these states Meanwhile the three states you mentioned, the Democratic vote was 89-10, 90-10 and 90-9, which is pretty much exactly how Democrats nationwide voted in 2008.

If there was a chance the issues Obama is having with rural white southern registered Dems, would spill over into states such as NC, OH & PA you would have at least seen some signs of it with the Democratic vote in 08, but you didn't, they voted the exact same way Democrats nationwide voted.
I'm not talking 08, I'm talking 2012. Are you saying the parts of Ohio that border WV are magically different, and the Dems there all love Obama? Many Hillary voters who backed Obama in 08, such as these rural working class white Democrats will not do it again. Many didn't in the first place, sure. But it will be more pronounced this time. On the whole, Democrats in the states I mentioned will rally behind Obama since most people live in the urban centers. But in a close race, those defective rural Democrats could give Romney the edge. I don't care what happened in 08 since if everyone were just going to vote the way they did in 08 we might as well not even hold the election and just declare Obama the winner.

Not enough people live in those areas to rfeally matter. Obama actually didn't to all that well in that border area, but because they make up such a small portion of Dems in the state he still took the same 90% of the Dem vote in Ohio as he did nationwide as opposed to the 70% he took in West Virginia.

In Ohio its going to come down to if Obama can run up the large margins he ran up in NE Ohio and counties like Franklin (a county Bush lost by only 4,100 votes, but McCain lost by 116,000 +)
