He's right - YouTube

Do you suppose that statement might appear in a few Romney ads?

I guess it's tough to look ahead 3 years for anybody but this is yet another example of how Team Obama has unwittingly managed to put the election into sharp relief. Things like the statement about the stimulus and 8 pct employment, cutting the deficit in half, etc.

Romney has been smart enough to take advantage by doing what he can do to highlight the contrast. He has continued to run hard to the right on economics, even with the primary wrapped up. Team Obama has thus far co-operated by running hard to the left w/ 'Life of Julia' etc.

Obama owns this economy. The recession ended in June 2009 without the aid of Obama's policies that didn't kick in yet. The recovery is the weakest since the depression Because of Obama's regulations and impending tax increases clamping growth. No one that is paying attention should vote for Obama for his record on the economy and jobs.

Uh...that IS a Romney ad.

Of course, it should be noted that at the time Obama made statement, he still believed the Republican's were interested in conciliation and compromise. He really thought they were as dedicated to the general welfare of the country as he was.

It took awhile to recognize it, but he finally came to understand that the GOP was not, and still isn't, the least bit interested in playing ball with him on any subject. They have one objective and one objective only. Nothing else, not even the nation or our people, come before this:

So the two years when he had total control of government don't count, when he concentrated on an unconstitutional healthcare plan and a failed stimulus plan. Or when he used his executive powers to stop the Keystone pipeline and push through draconian EPA regulations to strangle the economy. don't count?

Your memory is selectively short. The GOP has obstructed and opposed everything he wanted to do since day one. Nothing has come easy for this President or without a fight. The GOP has not been partners with him in solving the problems which face this country, but enemies out to destroy him.

And now, they have the gall to blame him for not getting much done.

That poster seems to forget similar statements by dems when a republican was president.

obama owns it. Blaming the republicans is not going to work. The buck stops with obama, especially, as you pointed out, that they had both houses of congress for TWO DAMN YEARS. And what did they focus on? An unpopular and likely unconstitutional piece of legislation known as obamacare. Something that, if it stands, could likely finish America which is just what that POS and his handlers are aiming to do.

Who is blaming him for not getting anything done? He has gotten more done in his first two years than any other president since LBJ! He just did all the wrong things. He has hurt the recovery that was ongoing when his policies kicked in. He knows nothing about economics. Thank God the republicans took over the house in his third year to stop some of the damage he was causing.

When you campaign on 2+2 = 4 and then become president and then that 2+2 = 7, why would anyone follow that or even attempt to follow that?
