They elected Bob McDonnell in 2009. Have a better than average chance of retaking the senate seat held by Jim Webb. 8 of the 11 members of the house are Republicans. Why is Obama doing so well there compared to other states?

The state is gerrymandered particuliarly well?

Maybe Virginians believe open and productive discourse. That pollsters report Obama is doing well is... well.... simply pollsters reporting what they want you to hear. Or you hearing what you want to hear.

I would not trust the polls until closer to the elections..I take them all with a grain of salt. The state is true toss up as many prior Obama supporters are moving to Romney.

Yeah,I'm not saying Obama will win Virginia. Just surprised that your state could possibly vote for conservative George Allen for senate,and then vote for Obama. Seems strange.
