Except that is not a budget, it merely tries to slightly control the growing spending somewhat. It doesn't even itemize expenditures like a budget. If it were a budget, why did Obama propose his own failed budget right after it passed? Why are Senate Democrats already trying to do undo this?

Basically, if you were spending a thousand bucks a month more than you made...and you decided to eat out more often, but use the value meal once a month instead of getting an expensive combo meal at McDonald's to save 3 bucks...and not outline where any of your dollars go -- that is what you are talking about here.

Some in Congress want to create a budget aimed at what they believe is good, some want to create a budget aimed at resurrecting the buggy whip industry. All of them want to expand spending in their pet projects, well, what their purchasers have told them are their pet projects. In the interim, we operate on under the constraints of the last passed budget. Neither Party is happy that their owners have been constrained. The Budget Control Act was passed to try to force Congress to do something .. we wait to see if they do. It is idiotic to say we do not have a budget. It is true to say we do not have the budget Congress desires.

Did congress pass an actual budget as per usual with items listed alongside expenditures with a set total amount or did they pass a mechanism to try to slow the growth of spending? There is no actual budget passed. The Republican House has passed a budget. The Democrat Senate has passed nothing and proposed nothing. Obama would feel good if his budget could get a vote.

Please stick in this world, no fantasy slams of Republicans wanting to start horse and buggy productions.

Obama - the first president since Carter to not have an annual budget.

Obama - the first president since Garfield to never have an annual budget. (Garfield died in office before he could do one)

Serious question, why aren't the Democrats in the Senate brave enough to put an actual budget down on paper? Even Obama was brave enough to do that - sure even the Democrats didn't want to support that reckless Obama binge spending, but at least he had a budget on paper.
