Excellent observation. Cherry pick the issues and internal government corruption/crime is not one of them.

You know, there are people who just learned of Fast and Furious this week. NBC didn't mention it until this week and then their reporter has to explain it to their viewers to get them up to speed. This is what bias is all about.

"Attorney General Eric Holder has been hauled before Congress to testify about the program no less than nine times. And this is the first time [Brian] Williams and company have mentioned it."

See what Candidate Obama had to say about Executive Privilege in 2007:

FLASHBACK 2007: Obama Attacked Trying "To Hide Behind Executive Privilege" - YouTube

This gives Romney another TV ad.
Yet again Candidate Obama opposes President Obama. No one has flip flopped more than Obama in the past 5 years or so.

F&F will result in Obamna resigning to avoid impeachment and the Dems running Hillary Clinton against MR for a 2012 Dem win. Biden let's his hair grow out and joins Jesse Ventura, charlie Sheen and Algore on a global stage self destruct journey.

Then again was it not hillary who used the US purchased furearms as the reason to push more 'gun control'?

F&F is like the flood last night that washed the animals out of the zoo. F&F will stand for Flush and Flee.

Don't forget the potentially hundreds of dead Mexican citizens. Some cities like Juarez, Mexico, have so much violence that people go right home from work and lock the door, the kids aren't allowed to play outside. We know, we have a friend who lives there. Juarez has more murders than war torn Baghdad at its height. That should make anyone sick. It should make anyone throw up to think that the US government is actively contributing to this violence.

Obama says that the Republicans are "enemies" (his words not mine) of Latinos...well one side wants to get to the bottom of the murders of scores and scores of innocent Mexican civilians and the Obama side wants to cover up in a hypocritical way from Candidate Obama's original position.

So was watergate a "distraction"?

This is a crime committed by Holder and Obama. In contrast to watergate, many more people have been killed and harmed by Obama's action than Nixon's. This is an abuse of executive power and has long term ramifications for the nation. It is a battle of the powers of the executive office vs congress.

You are right in one regard- there are more pressing issues, particularly the economy. Given that Obama has completely botched the economy, he has taken the tactic of distraction in an effort to avoid daily examination of his economic failures.

When Obama is gone, he will be viewed as the worst and most corrupt president in US history, taking the crown from Carter and Harding, respectively.

I wonder what happened to transparency? If I had nothing to hide then give them what they request and move on.

Maybe Bush ate the documents.
Our system of government provides for three separate branches of government. And at various times and for various reasons they compete with one another. Probably best described in terms men understand, a "Mine's bigger than yours" mentality. Given the expressed intent of GOP leaders in the U.S. Congress to disrupt the administration of the United States during the term of President Obama, which is an attack on our national security and interests, I'm not surprised President Obama has involed this right. The U.S. Constitution specifically provides for executive privilege. It's not a novel practice. The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the use of executive privilege by a President, in an opinion which includes "the valid need for protection of communications between high Government officials and those who advise and assist them in the performance of their manifold duties".

In his 3.5 years in office President Obama has invoked executive privilege this one time. He's not alone acting in this manner. George Washington exerted it when he was President. So did Thomas Jefferson. In a 5 year period Dwight Eisenhower invoked it 44 times. Nixon invoked it. Ronald Reagan used it 3 times. Bill Clinton exerted it 14 times. George W. Bush ... 6 times.

In modern times, especially in recent decades since the development of a vigerous, independent and investigative media ... if a President invokes executive privilege to conceal wrongdoing whatever actions are thought hidden from public scrutiny are eventually revealed. This instance will be no different.

It's a year when we select a President to lead us for the coming four years and past history has taught us to examine allegations of wrongdoing with a certain degree of skepticism. Not to overlook the back and forth allegations and claims, but to carefully examine the motivations for the accusers.
