There was an article in the Daily Mail awhile back (a right wing paper, btw) that stated that Thompson beat his first wife, which she mentioned when she originally filed for divorce (and then mysteriously decided not to file, suggesting that she withdrew under duress). When she did eventually file, she mentioned 'cruel and sadistic behavior' on his part, if that paper is to believed.
I have to agree, jak88. Am not wild about any of them, least of all Fred. If Rudy stays in the lead and gets the nomination, I will vote for him however. Once again, lesser of two evils....arghhhh.
Ron Paul is too out on a limb, and just doesn't look or act "presidential". In fact, he looks downright goofy to me, so is hard to hear what he has to say. His delivery is wanting as well.
There must be a lot of people who are either ugly women, or people married to ugly women who keep criticizing Fred Thompson for having an attractive wife.
Often its the same people who whine any time a person brings up Bill Clinton's sexual exploits, saying people need to stop complaining about a person's personal life.
I'm no Fred Thompson fan, and wouldn't vote for him even if he did get the nomination. But its obvious people who keep mentioning his wife have emotional disturbances due to their own inadequacies.
Fred's wife is attractive, I will grant that. But she is insipid. Just don't like insipid....
I just watched a video they did w/ Hannity and I found her delightful and classy. Not insipid at all.
Fred '08 - Friends of Fred Thompson (broken link)
It's obvious when reading the entire article that Dick Morris doesn't like Thompson. Much of what he states in the article is his opinion, not necessarily fact. Besides, look at any one of the candiates background and you will find some questionable stances. At least Thompson lists his agenda on Fred08. He doesn't change his opinion depending on who he is talking to and his agenda is very conservative. I personally found Morris' article to be quite unfair. It almost sounded as though he has a bone to pick with the man. Thompson will either be a shining star or bomb. Time will tell but I think it's far too early to count him out. To do so would be a big mistake. Rudy is far too liberal for my likes and soft on illegals and has supported gun control. Not exactly what I would call conservative.
Well, do you realize that Morris is the source of much of the "Hillary-Hate" as well? If you don't believe it on Thompson, doesn't that mean you have to at least take it down a notch for Hillary too?
The Republican Party had better do a great job at the convention, because at this moment I don't see anyone emerging as the clear front runner. I can't believe they will go with Rudy, although he may have the best chance of defeating Hillary.
