I didnt once ask Obama to disclose his tax returns for 1 year, let alone 11. You dont get brownie points for releasing documents no one cares about.. well clearly those who arent dumb..

Amnesty? The IRS does not give amnesty. They swoop in, seize your records, freeze your assets, take everything, shut your business down (even though they technically are not supposed to do that), and let the attorneys sort it out. I have seen too many bad, bad days for business owners at the hands of the IRS on those seizure days.

Indeed, Dale, slow is a dangerous disease. Mr. Romney claimed $75,000, but the IRS caught him and only allowed $49.00. I.e., he tried to get away with it, but didn't.
Now, before you go off on the fact that he wasn't prosecuted, you need to know that there is not necessarily any criminal or otherwise wrongfully culpable intent attributed by the IRS in trying to get a deduction to which one is not entitled (so long as it isn't considered negligent, reckless or criminal by the IRS). People try it more often than you think. He probably got audited (also not necessarily only for bad guys; there are random audits and other audits based on certain "flags"). In this case my guess (yes, a guess since I haven't seen the tax returns) is that he tried to claim it as a business expense (i.e, as a deduction from gross income), but it only got allowed as a medical expense (i.e., a deduction from adjusted gross income to arrive at taxable income).
He preferred to try for the business deduction because it's a dollar for dollar deduction, but a medical deduction is only allowed to the extent it exceeds 7% of adjusted gross income. Since Mitt's AGI was probably substantial, that 7% exclusion would have probably almost wiped out any medical deduction. Hence see if he can pull it off, and just deal pay it if the IRS catches him.

Reid didn't say what years it was that Roney paid 0 taxes. In fact, it might not have even been during the most recent 10 years. It may have been back while he was still with Bain, up to 2002. Yes...2002. His 14% in the one year he's shown us proves nothing.
