Yeah, I know about the companions.

Also, from what I've read about missionary life, a houseboy and a house good enough to be an embassy are not usual perks. Neither is meeting with your girlfriend. You're supposed to lock your heart.

I think you're defining date differently than me. I consider being together with someone you have a romantic interest in, either alone or with 200 people, as a date. For you, it's only a date if you're alone?
Seriously? What do you call it if you get togetherwith your romantic interest and 200 people? Unless you want to claim it was a chance meeting. That's possible, I suppose. The article doesn't say.
The version of "saw" is not "physically seeing someone with your eyes" otherwise they would not have needed "strict supervsion." They met and they were romantically involved.

Accordig to the tenets of being a missionary, he wasn't supposed to be seeing her at all.
I think that, as a Mormon, I know a little more about the tenets of the faith than you do. If, when Ann and Mitt were in France, they were both members of the same Mormon congregation (which they almost certainly would have been as congregations are determined solely along geographic lines), they would have undoubtedly have run into one another from time to time at church functions. They would never had had any "alone time." I honestly don't care what more you have to say on the subject. I know what I'm talking about on this issue and young men who are "romantically involved" with anyone while on their missions are sent home. There are no exceptions. It is what it is, and nothing you say is going to change it. So, please feel free to have the last word on this. It's a stupid thread in the first place, and I wish I hadn't even bothered responding. You've obviously got your fingers in your ears anyway.

He was serving the Lord, now I know some people don't get that and if they don't there is nothing much anyone can do about that, but for me serving the Lord is a little more important.

Ann Romney was born in 1949. The year was 1968.
In June 1965 Mitt asked Ann to marry him when she was 16 years old. They had only dated for a few months.
Ok. Gotcha. Guess Mitt weren't romantically involved with her after he had asked her to marry him.
Knowing the mormom faith better than I do, you're saying this was legit?
Because what you said just reinforced that Mitt Romney doesn't follow the same rules you just said there is no exception for.

Clue...you don't have a clue about the LDS church...or missions...your bigotry and ignorance on this issue has blinded you. You obviously have an agenda to smear Mitt Romney. But...this is a non issue.

Neither does the guy I quoted, apparently. And he's a Mormon. I guess you could call it a smear. Obama kills innocent people - chidlren too! - with drones. Is that a smear or is it truth? It's truth.

Mitt met Ann on his mission while being romantically involved with her. Smear? Or truth.

OBVIOUS SMEAR.

It is possible to serve the Lord and your country at the same time, but Mitt chose to spend the war years in a 12 million dollar mansion in Paris. He used the church as an excuse to avoid going to war. It is rather obvious to me.

To me the issue with his wife-to-be is meaningless.

Okay, let's start stringing up ALL draft dodgers from the Vietnam era...the line would be pretty long...Mitt would have lots of company there.

Just one more reason to despise Romney. Who in their right mind wants to convert to his idiotic cult? Mormonism makes even Islam look almost sane.

Mitt saw Ann only infrequently in 1968
