America's first black governor tells Joe Biden: 'Slavery is nothing to joke about.’

America’s first black governor in modern times has become the most senior Democrat to break ranks over Joe Biden’s ‘y’all in chains’ comments, telling the Vice President: 'Slavery is nothing to joke about.'

Douglas Wilder, who was governor of Virginia from 1990 to 1994 and the first black governor since Reconstruction, told CNN that 'without question' Biden’s remarks in Danville, Virginia (though the veep seemed to think he was in North Carolina) 'were appeals to race'.

He continued: 'The important thing I got out of this was Biden separated himself from what he accused the people of doing. As a matter of fact, what he said is they are going to do something to y’all, not to me. Not us. So he was still involved with that separate American.

Default Why Biden was right...

Think about it...

Capitalism has always needed a supply of cheap labor. The Pre Civil War South was just the most extreme, obscene example- slave labor.

Once that option was taken away, the South struggled. It hit on strategies to replace the slaves, such as wholesale arrests and incarceration of poor blacks AND whites, who were sent to labor in the fields and factories (and yes, they were CHAINED).

Now the South (and the whole country, if the GOP vision comes true) has hit on the next best thing- Right to Work (your self to death for peanuts) Laws- low wages, no benefits, no union representation. If you're lucky, you can have two or three such jobs, and maybe scrape by at about the poverty level!

So, Romney and Mini Mitt want to "unshackle" Wall Street???

We've SEEN, a few times, what happens when Wall Street comes unshackled... and It isn't pretty.

So, take your pick- REAL chains, or Metaphorical chains?

Biden was RIGHT!!!

It's too bad the ballot doesn't have Vote out this bum, and vote out the other bum, and vote out both bums.

Many of us wish that were the case. perhaps in another few terms...we'll get the hope and change that really DOES make a difference for everyone.

Let's broaden the scope of perspective. Remember that it was the Republicans who went to war to free the slaves.

Both parties have had special breaks for special interests, be they banks, insurance, Wall St., pharmaceuticals...take your pick.

Biden is a rabble rouser and thought his special interest -- the primarily black audience of that day -- could be turned against Romney by what he said. It wasn't a gaffe. It was calculated. And it was the wrong thing to do. Shall we say "divisive"?

SW, Little do they know the chains are still in use, just in Red Commie China. These chains belong to us as much if not more than the Chinese! The best part is Bill Clinton and His Holyness his own self Joe BIDEN placed these chains on the Chinese.

BTW have you seen the video of this chump Biden drunk, and singing "The Idiot" err well the Villages theme song, but i swear it sounds like idiot.. after all he is drunk like most of the time...

Was it not the truth?

Obama makes up stuff to appeal to emotion. Let's have Obama tell the truth for a change.
