Niall Ferguson: HIT THE ROAD, BARACK
Aug 19, 2012 1:00 AM EDT

Quote:
The president has broken his promises, and Romney-Ryan's path to prosperity is our only hope.

Quote:
I was a good loser four years ago. “In the grand scheme of history,” I wrote the day after Barack Obama’s election as president, “four decades is not an especially long time.

Yet in that brief period America has gone from the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. to the apotheosis of Barack Obama. You would not be human if you failed to acknowledge this as a cause for great rejoicing.”

Despite having been—full disclosure—an adviser to John McCain, I acknowledged his opponent’s remarkable qualities: his soaring oratory, his cool, hard-to-ruffle temperament, and his near faultless campaign organization.

Yet the question confronting the country nearly four years later is not who was the better candidate four years ago. It is whether the winner has delivered on his promises. And the sad truth is that he has not.

This is the most concise and accurate summary of Obama's administration that I have seen. Everyone in America should read this.

From the link:

Quote:
And even that figure understates the real debt burden. The most recent estimate for the difference between the net present value of federal government liabilities and the net present value of future federal revenues—what economist Larry Kotlikoff calls the true “fiscal gap”—is $222 trillion.
$222 trillion. 'Nuff said.

The fact is all these government programs are not financed and taxing the rich will not do the trick.

Excellent article. I'm not at all enthusiastic about Romney, but Obama has done lots of damage to this nation. As did Bush before him, etc. We need a third party. One that actually cares about America.

Wow, a hawkish conservative like Ferguson thinks Obama should go? Who woulda thunk it!

The next thing you know some Republican running for office will claim that rape rarely causes pregnancy.

Which likely means he voiced why you are a conservative and why you would never even consider voting for Obama in the first place.
