So according to this thread:

I'm lazy, waiting for a handout from the gov't, too stupid to know what's good for me, and now living in poverty...

GO GOP!

My confusion is more with the black voters. The latino voters I can understand to a degree. It seems to largely deal with immigration. While I understand, I cant figure out why they cant grasp the importance of our laws, our border laws. The importance of following a process to get into our country like many others do. The importance to protect our borders. Seems that whenever someone even mentions a way to deal with the problem, you get outrage from liberals and latinos and often charges of racism.

As far as the black vote, and really anyone for that matter, why Democrat? A conservative message is to say to any American that you can do anything and make something of yourself if you try hard enough. You dont need or have to rely on government. Some on the other side seem to suggest otherwise, but many have come here and worked their tails off to succeed.

What programs or policies do minorities want exactly that arent already in place? Does it not appear to you that one party in particular seems to break everyone down into a group of some sort? Is that what you want? To be looked at for your skin color only and not as an American first?

We are more concerned with KEEPING the laws we fought for so that we don't slip back into the "God Ole Days of Real American Values™."

(see the recent wave of voter suppression laws enacted by the GOP as a hint)

Neither party will cut funding to the poor, lets just be clear on that one. No matter the political rhetoric it will never happen. Also when it comes to Immigration, name one Republican President that has done ANYTHING at all in this department. If you truely believe that Mitt will be the first, well then you poor dear.
Don't be so sure "neither party will cut funding to the poor." The Ryan Budget, which Rmoney has endorsed, calls for strict (I say cruel) cuts to Medicaid, SNAP and children's nutrition programs. That's how they partially pay for tax-cuts for the rich (eliminating capital gains taxes.)

According to Ezra Klein, of the Washington Post,
Quote:
The real Romney-Ryan budgets cuts aren’t to Medicare. They’re to programs for the poor.

Ryan says his budget cuts more than $5 trillion in the next decade. Less than a trillion of that is coming from Medicare. Romney says his budget cuts about $7 trillion from the budget over the next decade and not a dollar of that comes from Medicare. And neither Romney nor Ryan want to cut Social Security and both increase spending on defense.

If you’re not cutting Medicare or Social Security or defense you’ve already taken more than half of the federal budget off the table. And you know what’s mainly left, the big pot of money you can still cut?

Programs for poor people.

that will never happen, cuts to SNAP and nutrition programs that is. Too many red states depend on those programs. Ryan can keep hope alive.

I've been black for 47 years. I've never had anyone drop by the house and offer me poverty.

Please help me...what does a poverty offerer look like? Why hasn't he/she come to my house yet. You know...since you right wingers seem to know these things. (could be because you know a little something about poverty firsthand....yea, that's it).
