Ok just for grins" Too Big to fail" ? Take a look back, Wall Street was on the ropes, something had to be done. The vote came from both sides of the isle, loan the money, an infusion to ward off a total collapse of Wall Street then more companies would fall, the Domino effect.. next would be a devaluation of our money to scrap paper. Bush, your Guy was in office, it was his watch !
Now , GM and the Emmit collapse just as what was happening on wall street. The President made a brave move, He took over GM and kept it going, a great thing he did. If you know anything at all about how far the failure would go, not just GM if it had been destroyed. You think not ?, They would just have a BK and a reorganization, everything would be fine...Wrong.! There was no money for anyone, loans were impossible, thats why they were in trouble, the lack of funds to keep going, ride it out, as they had done before in less dramatic hard times. Sure GM had a lot of problems, they were too big, they needed to go lean, cut some lines, etc.. well they did when Obama took over, and it worked. They have already paid back a lot, and will finish the loan in reasonable order. GM is making money again, thousands of people kept there jobs and many others were called back as well as a lot of new Jobs as a result. I was a part of all this, let me tell you you are wrong ! Our Company distributes machinery to venders for GM and others including Ford. Once things ramped up , we were on a roll, along with many others. Business has never been better. There is a shortage of people to fill jobs, skilled ones, like those who have had these jobs in Michigan , the state that had the highest unemployment.
So , when you try the old Socialist thing , most know by now thats a red herring.. We are a socialist country, so what ? . What do you call Social security, medicare, and all the others positive caring things that happen every day. You righties think voting is a privilege , sane people know , it is a right according to our Constitution. Get over your rant about give a ways, help for the poor, retirement pensions, the list goes on and its not just the dems. that are behind all things our Government does. We are the Government, we vote ( when we can as your side wants to limit that also as a privilege ) we help each other. we all have a right to happiness...again according to the Constitution. Way more than you or anyone wanted to hear, but , I am mad as hell and am doing something about it, what are you doing besides throwing around republican talking points..?
Great post. I wish I could rep you for it.

Cannot rep you again, so I'll give you this great article...

Quote:
In recent years, Republicans have been characterized by two principal positions: They like starting wars and don't like paying for them. George W. Bush initiated two major wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but adamantly refused to pay for either of them by cutting non-military spending or raising taxes. Indeed, at his behest, Congress actually cut taxes and established a massive new entitlement program,
Medicare Part D.

Bush's actions were unprecedented. During every previous major war in American history, presidents demanded sacrifices from rich and poor alike. As Robert Hormats explains in his 2007 book, The Price of Liberty: Paying for America's Wars, "During most of America's wars, parochial desires--such as tax breaks for favored groups or generous spending for influential constituencies--have been sacrificed to the greater good. The president and both parties in Congress have come together … to cut nonessential spending and increase taxes."
The entire article is well worth the read...

This is what Obama was talking about last night when he spoke of "Citizenship" and everybody sacrificing if need be and being united. And the right wing has the audacity to call our President un-American. I see nothing American in Romney's Neocon vision.

Obama thinks he himself is unpatriotic. Why aren't you screaming about him calling himself that?

Is that why California is in debt and always asking for more taxes? They are broke! New jobs are not helping at this time!

Actually acting according to one's principles can sometimes make life more difficult.

That's only because we haven't been able to get all the deadbeat freeloaders to move to trailer trash havens like MO, OK, AR, TX... and NV (yet)!
