Questions keep coming up about Romney's taxes, how rich he is, and basically about the rich not paying their "fair share". There are a lot of people on both sides that believe the tax codes are screwed up. So, if you had your way, what % would you say is enough for a rich person to be taxed? If 15% of his gains is not enough, what is? 25%, 50%, 75%? What is the rich's "fair share"?
He should pay what he is required to pay. The upsetting part is the very low requirement for someone of his wealth.
Why does dollar number $250M have more importance to you than the first dollar in his account? Did he somehow place less emphasis in earning the first dollar than the last dollar? I don't understand why the Left is so concerned with wealth......as if the sheer number of dollars detract from the means for which they were earned. Please explain.
His income is coming from capitol gains......then on top of the tax he pays, you do realize he gives away over 10% to charity before taxes even kick in? Did Obama give over 10% of his income to charity? Did Biden? Oh, I think the Bidens gave a whopping $300 last time anyone checked. Do you give 10% of your income to charity...or are you the benificiary of a charity?
I think taxing the rich is getting overused. The Rolling Stones even fled Britan to France once upon a time. Guess they wanted to keep some of their hard earned money.
It is a question of what percentage SHOULD he pay, not what is legal now. What do y'all think is the "fair share".
Funny thing is the Obama's use the same tax code Romney uses.....just sayin. Did Obama pay more in taxes than required? Did Biden pay more than required? What is Obama's fair share.....? How many luxury blouses and undies do the taxpayers have to purchase for a first lady? How many vacations should be provided for a first lady at our expense? How many personal rock concerts do the taxpayers have to provide a president with? What is fair? How many families could have dinners provided on a $6,000 dollar blouse? What is fair? You tell me. Your double standards are not FAIR.
Someone explain why capital gains outside of TRUE venture capitalist activities should be taxed at a lower rate.
People get upset because Romney POTENTIALLY pays about the same net tax rate as a generic no minor children couple making as little as ~110K. (not particularly likely given most $110K people would itemize for more deductions). Probably around the 130K mark is more realistic. Nonetheless you think he is just going to hand over an extra million to be nice?
Anyway my answer is depends what it is after we tighten the rules and what capital gains is and why it is taxed lower.
