Obviously, mister mittens is channeling Leona Helmsly's disgust for the "the little people." But ya gotta give it to her, Leona treated her dog better, eh.

Oh okay because everyone has family members to help and people who are willing to be their roommate when they are a single mother of three working or going to school (to improve their skills) and having a hard time making ends meet. ...Ideally, poverty should be a temporary situation. There are plenty of people that have gotten out of it and may not have if it wasn't for the stepping stone. The "working poor" are exactly that - some of them have multiple jobs, work long hours and go to school.

Living in poverty on government assistance is not most peoples' desired standard of living and unless you want to live in a third world country, the government is going to continue to help those people. And another thing, would you give the same advice to veteran or an elderly person who worked their entire life and is now on a fixed income? Your advice cannot be applied to everyone and you are basically taking it from someone who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and never struggled a day in his life. When CEOs make 300 times that of the average worker and it is impossible to live on minimum wage, it is not nearly going to be as cut and dry as you are attempting to make it out to be. The good old days are gone.

What's even more poignant about this Romney moment of honesty is that this event was a $50K a plate fundraiser held by another low life "Private Equity" guy doing similar things to what Bain did, Marc Leder, who also apparently likes having sex parties in the Hamptons.

This is the guy responsible for putting Friendlys and 20% of the companies his firm bought in to bankruptcy. The Friendly's bankruptcy lead to 1500 people losing their jobs. He also wanted to steal all their pensions by declaring bankruptcy...another standard move for Bain.

This is what being "business friendly" means to the GOP. It's not about creating jobs, it's about rich guys getting richer by any means necessary. These are the "job creators" the GOP and their minions can't kiss up enough to.

Already posted in this thread. The demographic of those age 65 and older is 13% of the population, and account for less than 10% of those who pay no federal income tax. That still leaves over 41% of non-elderly earners who pay NO federal income tax whatsoever.

First the 51% number is simply wrong
You tell the IRS and the CBO that they are wrong.

Why are the actual IRS facts so hard for you to believe? Our country has a MASSIVE population of freeloaders.

Friendlys has been dying for years, as it demographically needed June and Ward Cleaver type families. They are keeping too many stores open now.

The way I see it, if a person cannot afford to eat, let him starve to death. I guarantee you, when starving to death is a likely possibility, a person will find the means to be able to afford food. It's sort of like this... if you were walking a tightrope, wouldn't you be a lot more careful if you were doing it without a safety net than you would be if you had a net? A lot of people don't work because they don't want to work... they'd rather smoke and drink and sit around all day. My brother was on unemployment for 1 1/2 years... not because he couldn't work or couldn't get a job... but because, in his logic, if he was getting paid $400+ per week to sit at home and do nothing, why not? Why get a job when you can be paid to sit around and do nothing?

If a person cannot afford medical care, let him die. We have the right to life, but nowhere in the Constitution does it say we have the right to LONG life. None of us knows how long we will live anyway. If a person is going to die without the right medical care, let it be up to his loved ones to pay for the care. Most of us suffer health ailments because of our own stupidity, and I don't want to pay to clean up the mess. (If you don't believe me, do a bit of research on Jack LaLanne.)

If a person cannot afford a house, let him be homeless. You know, some people choose homelessness even though there are shelters out the ying-yang. For those who wouldn't, there are options. When a person is desperate, he can find the will and the power to do things he never knew he could... and rise up from those desperate circumstances.
You ever been sick? Homeless, Hungry?

You ever been scared to death you'll lose that job you have and not be able to pay the rent or mortgage? You ever have to choose between buying food, or medication? You ever skip a meal or two just to be sure your kids have something to eat? You ever pray you don't get really sick because you can't afford to pay for medical care?

You ever spend a night in one of those homeless shelters that are, as you put it, out the ying yang? Or stand in line just to be told there are no more beds?

It's a lot easier to spout this kind of BS when you haven't known what it's like. You may want to look around you, son.

They do very well where I live, and they are part of Americana that I happen to love. And, I don't like seeing slickster "job creators" like Marc Leder and Mitt Romney buying them and then trying to squeeze cash out by stealing peoples pensions.

This is the real truth about all of this nonsense about "job creation" that the talk radio gods won't tell you. You think this guys are starting companies and creating new products? BS. They buy companies and seek to exploit them for their own gain....the net net is a loss for the country and a big boost in their off shore accounts.

So the point is that Romney does not care about people over 65 who pay no income taxes. You say that is 10% of the 47% that he does not care about. They are included in the 47% he does not care about. Why would that 10% vote for Romney when he does not care about them or their vote?
