Team Obama is laying it on heavy that the president may be the less-prepared candidate because of the demands of his office.
“The President will have a little bit of time to review and practice before the debates, but he has had to balance the management of world events, governing, time out campaigning and will have less time than we anticipated to sharpen and cut down his tendency to give long, substantive answers,” Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki told ABC News.
Obama campaign officials are even putting a spin on the debates as a potential “reset” moment for the race, claiming they won’t be surprised if Romney gets a bounce “just by being on the same stage as the incumbent.”
One official, lowering the expectations bar even further for Obama, went so far as to note to ABC News that five out of the last six presidential challengers were judged to have won the first debate.
All campaigns. They try and lower expectations for their side and raise them for the other side.

Problem with that excuse is that he doesn't DO anything demanding in his office. He skips intelligence briefings, Jobs Council meetings, and meeting with his cabinet. He also doesn't meet with world leaders who ask for a meeting.
Maybe going on The View and Letterman is what they mean?

Already making excuses why Romney will gain i the polls after the debates.

LOL Obama always side stepped serious questions. He did not meet with world leaders because they also might ask hard question. Let's face it, Obama is just a front for union leaders and he is less prepared. He is too busy hobnobbing with rich celebrities.

How lame. He is going to be on stage with your Obamanous. How arrogant.

I noticed for a long time that Obama gives speeches but does not take questions. When he is asked hard questions, how dare you, he gets irritated. He also is good at skirting the question. This past summer they tried to get the debt taken off the table but it didn't work. I was looking forward to the debates so we can finally see Obama answer questions but I guess they are trying to protect him from having to do this.
Yeah, this way they win even if they lose. The Bush camp was singing long and loud about Kerry's Cicero-like debating chops. Classic strategy, or "strategery" in that example.

Team Romney is doing the same thing. Romney himself is going on about how great of a debater that Obama is and how he (Romney) has no experience with this. This happens every election cycle. The only time that I believed it was with George W because he really was dumb.
As long as Obama has the teleprompter to answer the questions he will be okay. After all his team already knows what the questions will be from his lackey moderators.

Well, we can't really expect Obama to take the needs of the country seriously when he's worked so hard preparing for Letterman and The View.
