A simple question. If Romney has taken so many position on so many topics that he has argued himself in full circles, how can you take him on his word about anything?
One of the primary forms of respect for another person is to respect their "word." How can ANYONE respect Romney's word at this point. It means almost nothing.
I know Obama has failed on a number of his campaign promises. Usually, it does not take long to see why. In some cases, the economic conditions have made them impossible. In other cases, the politics proved impassible. He was excoriated by Univision, for example for failing to get the Dream Act passed. Fair enough, and certainly he can be criticized for naivete. However, Obama, or for that matter, few other politicians have anywhere near the record of Etch a Sketching of Mitt Romney.
Multiple Choice Mitt and Lyin Ryan--they kind of say it all, and they wouldn't have caught on if they didn't ring true. You can't trust a word either of those two say.

Sure, and we know all politicians lie and exaggerate, but don't you want to have some trust in your President? Romney seems to be in the Nixon category of mendacity. I will quickly add, though, that I think he is a basically decent guy, not a complete scumbag like Nixon.
Ok Fiddlehead so you are saying that Obama has been president but we should just give Obama a pass. Romney hasn't been president but don't give him any chance because we need to give Obama a pass on all his broken promises.
You can't have it both ways... well maybe in your mind.

The reporting on the campaign, yesterday, was quoting Romney and his aides as saying he was moderating his views, positions on issues, to be more "attractive" to independent voters. This is a man who has a long history of saying one thing to one group, and then, behind closed doors and when speaking to financial backers and other powerful people, what's really on his mind. What his agenda is. He lacks the character and integrity to be considered for the job he's applying for.
