Chuck Norris has to much class for that job, and doesn't shout people down. I think they should get Jessie Ventura, he's neither Dem or Rep and is used to shouting.
Good point. Ventura is a politician and I don't like shouting anyway.
I'd rather have Norris with the candidates wearing shock collars. Let the candidates be asked politely, once or maybe twice, to respect the rules. After that ... ZAP!
Why not a computer program to moderate. The questions could come from the campaigns themselves. Both sides would submit a list of X number of questions on economics, foreign policy, etc. Then the computer would select from the list at random, each side getting an equal number of questions from their lists.
Candidates would be given exactly equal time to address each question. After that the computer shuts off their mike. Maybe give them a special 'extend' button to push if they need extra time, but they can use it only (say) twice during the course of the debate.
Then there is no question of moderator bias or competence. Just mano y mano, candidate y candidate. As long as mods are drawn from the MSM, which is overwhelmingly liberal, the debate process is going to be just a little suspect. Remember when Newt Gingrich called out CNN's John King? That was still one of the delicious moments of this entire 2012 election.
Chuck is way too stupid to moderate a debate. The man thinks evolution is pretend. Then again so does Romney so I dunno.
Evolution is pretend.
