Chris Christie has approval ratings WELL over 50% with mid 30s in the disapproval category. Now that doesn't necessarily dictate that he would carry NJ against a theoretically more liberal candidate in a presidential election. NJ hasn't gone red since that idiot Michael Dukakis was on the lib ticket. so...it wouldnt be correct to draw a conclusion that the state polling against him indicates some type of incompetence.

So...do you think NJ would go red in 2016 if Christie ran?

I dont believe so...and I think it is partly because the political environment in the last few years has gotten so utterly toxic. The partisan divide is vicious.

Chritie's approval rating is OVER 50% so there is still a possibility that he might carry NJ based upon who is running against him. If he ran against PeeWee Herman he could win regardless of the political make up of the state. The point is that mitt screwed up in the state of Mass and the people there know it. This is the sole reason why he won't win in Mass.

Performance over Personality = mitt won't win!

He chose Utah in 1999-2000 to get a tax break claiming it was his primary residence. It wasn't until he wasn't going to qualify to run for Governor that he retroactively changed his status & paid the back taxes. He chose MA as his 'home' (his son's address) so he could vote in the special election. He didn't own a home in MA after he left as Gov...he maintained homes in NH and CA. He was barely even in Massachusetts his last year as our Governor, I believe he spent over 210 days out of the state in 2006....he was running around the country trying to start his national political career. He forgot he already had a job as our Governor.
Reasons like this^ shows that he is willing to do anything to get what he thinks that he should have
